Course Description

This course provides an overview of OpenStack (http://www.openstack.org/), and the tools necessary for implementing a cloud operating system using OpenStack framework. The goal of this course is to understand how OpenStack works and how it can be used to manage converged compute, network, and storage.

This OpenStack bootcamp course is conducted in a small classroom (with online option too). Each student will be provided with a secure OpenStack lab environment (with multimode deployment) for intensive, hands-on access initially via CLI (helping understand how everything works in background) and then moving to GUI-based tools (e.g., Horizon dashboard). We will cover everything: from architecture to component interaction, through configuration, deployment, operations and troubleshooting.

Target Audience

  • Systems Administrators
  • Technical IT Professionals

Prerequisites

  • Basic Linux command line experience
  • Virtualization concepts
  • Networking concepts (TCP/IP, Layer2 and Layer 3 networking)
